Mickey Mouse Birthday Party

My little man just turned 2!! Time flies. Anyway, we decided to have a Mickey Mouse themed party for him. I must admit Pinterest was a lifesaver! So you can kind of say this is a Mickey Party Round-Up because I pretty much copied everything. Enjoy!
I wanted some Mickey Mouse Pretzels but the ones I found were a bit too difficult. Mine were a bit simpler. I made these here.
We invited the cousins, so I only made food for 9 children. Easy breezy! I found these greatMickey Oreo Cookies and then we had juice and chocolate covered waffers.
Made some cute sandwiches with Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutter. (Check out the side bar for a link to amazon where I bought it!)
These cute party bags were a hit! I included some mickey candy and toys that you could get on amazon also. (Check out the sidebar)
I made this great sign for the front door. Can't find the link, but it is very cute.
This was the cutest and easiest pinata EVER!!! And they have a great tutorial.
The kids loved it!
All the games and activities I printed from Disney Junior. It is a great site for totally free Disney stuff! No really...you should go there right now!
Lastly, I have to shout out to my sister-in-law Tammy! This lovely banner was made by her with lots of love. I was super excited to put it up. She didn't just make us one, she made all her sisters one for our annual "Sister's Day". I'm sure it took like FOREVER! I totally love it and it was the perfect fit. Thanks Tam!

Mickey Mouse Pretzels

My son just had his 2nd birthday!!! We had a great time. One of the treats for all his cousins (we just had a cousin party) was Mickey Mouse Pretzels.

I looked online but all the crazy pretzels were WAY to complicated for what I wanted. So I made my own.

I just rolled out the pretzel dough (check out this post for a GREAT recipe.) I made a large circle for the face and two separate half circles for the ears. Then I attached the ears underneath the face and pinched!!

I have to admit, they came out just how I wanted them. Now dip them in cheese and ENJOY!!!

St. Patrick's Day Decorations

If you know me, you know I LOVE St. Patrick's Day. Mostly because I love the color green. Lucky for me, my husband's favorite color is also green. We are the perfect match. And by default, my son then has to love green. I mean really, have you not seen his bedroom? It is pretty green. As seen HERE.

Of course, I do have to draw a line. I can't decorate like I used to in college. (Ah, those were the days! Rainbows, a pot of gold, streamers and shamrocks galore!) I do still get to decorate my classroom a bit. It does sometimes look like a leprechaun blew up there.

So this year I made some very fun pillows. I've had this fabric for about 15 years!! (Shout out to Lauryl, we made pajama pants with it in high school!) So finally, I'm using it again! Then I used fabric paint to paint on the "Lucky" pillow. I think it turned out pretty cute.

Now, you know I love PINTEREST! Total obsession.

I found this great BANNER and this SUBWAY ART on Pinterest. All you have to do is print!! LOVE IT!!

So all in all I think it turned out pretty cool!

Homemade Lemon Oreos

I love homemade oreos. I usually make them from a boxed cake. I also love lemon! I decided, why not combine the two and make Lemon oreos!! Mmmmm....

Combine yellow cake mix with a stick of butter and mix well. Add 1 egg and 2 tsp of fresh lemon juice and 1 tsp lemon zest.

It will look like this. It should be thick enough to scoop and plop.

Scoop into balls on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

They look like this. Now fill with lemon infused cream cheese frosting...

And you have yourself some lemon oreos! Mmmmm..

Kindle Cover

My husband is wonderful and he got me a Kindle for Christmas, seeing as I love books. But I wasn't totally convinced I would love it. I have to admit I LOVE BOOKS. Not e-books. Just books. On my shelf, reminding me I read them once, or twice, or even three or four times. But since space is running out...and he is tired of all my books....he thought KINDLE.

Now with a Kindle comes responsibility like not dropping, stepping, or eating on it. So I knew right away I needed a cover. So this is what I came up with.

I checked Pinterest as well as Google for some tutorials and ideas. I found some, but I was looking for something a little more...ME! So I combined a few and came up with my own.

Love the argyle! Just used my scraps from home to create it. But I wanted it to be very functional and "childproof".

Notice, some lovely pockets on the side for the Kindle as well as papers or writing utensils.

Now with the Kindle in the reading position. I pretty much leave it here.

Notice I didn't use elastic or ribbon to keep the kindle in place. I just used triangle pieces of fabric that tuck around the Kindle. I think this looks way more professional as well as protects it so much better. Plus, if you cut them out on the bias they will stretch just enough to fit your Kindle. I also used velcro on the flap for the closure. This way when I want to read....

It will velcro around the back and be perfect for holding! LOVE IT!!!
